PAN DE VIDA (BREAD OF LIFE) SOUP KITCHEN
A ministry that provides a warm meal, the word of God, medical assistance, a micro business and much more to over 1600 hungry, in need people on a monthly basis. NILI joins this ministry on Wednesday evenings to prepare, cook and serve the warm meal. Also in helping with the kids teaching bible lessons and playing games while the adults are in their devotional time.
BETANÍA ASILO – CASA DE ANCIANOS – OLD FOLKS HOME
Located in Llano Chico-close to Calderon, this home exists to provide for the needs of the elderly when there is no government or familial assistance. Rather than trying to survive on the streets, these wonderful “third-age” adults are cared for and loved in a safe environment. At this time, there are 50 residents.
When visiting these wonderful people you have the opportunity to sit and talk with the residents who love the attention, you can walk around the property with them, assist then in knitting or other crafts and just be a friend to them. This is a great opportunity to practice your Spanish and to learn about the lives of these wonderful “third-age” adults.
HOSPITAL SAN FRANCISCO
A local Hospital here in Quito where we go to give out food to the people waiting in the emergency area. We help in any way we can being the hands and feet of Jesus in this public space.
